A Man with a Flashlight

Gonzales chooses his words

From his Sunday piece in the Washington Post:

I know that I did not — and would not — ask for the resignation of any U.S. attorney for an improper reason.

Interesting how the words “I know that” actually add uncertainty to his statement, isn’t it? And:

During those conversations, to my knowledge, I did not make decisions about who should or should not be asked to resign.

Gonzales’ own actions, apparently, are like an obscure academic field that he has intrepidly researched, to report back to us what he has learned.

I could go on, but Dan Froomkin does it better.
